I don't get on here much, but receive the announcements and way too many of our classmates passing. Although Bruce wasn't close, I remember him as a bright and fun loving guy. Sincere condolences to his family.

Congratulations on your retirement! Jealous! I'm counting down to the end of this year (or earlier if I can get a package)!

I was totally stunned when I heard that news that Eric had passed away. I was probably even more astounded that it had occurred due to a heart attack. Eric always seemed to be in good shape and take good care of himself.
I’ve known Eric since grade school (Wright). Eric was a great guy to be around even then. My first memory of him was on the playground. All the boys were being tested for the standing broad jump. Most of us were lucky to get to 4 feet (I wasn’t one of those!). Eric steps up to the line and promptly leaps more than 6 feet. Obviously, this was a precursor of his rebounding days in High School!
As long as I knew him, he always greeted me with a big hug and loudly proclaimed to everyone in the immediate area, ”Dave was the smartest kid in our class at Wright!”. Those of you who can remember back to grade school know that being the “smart” kid was NOT an advantage. Being smart and fat was even worse. But as long as Eric was around no one would bother me!
Our paths deviated somewhat after grade school. We’d cross paths occasionally, but ran with different crowds.
Strangely enough, Eric caught up to me in SEPA. I don’t remember how we reconnected, but we visited his house and family and he visited ours. It was like old times.
I was so glad to see him at the last reunion. Melonie, his fiancé, told me they had just been in town the week before and Eric didn’t want to make the trip back. Fortunately, Melonie convinced him to come. It was great seeing him again and he insisted on have a picture taken with just him and me. He told me that he was definitely planning to come to the 50th (actually Melonie told him to tell me he would be there).
Eric was always friendly, always smiling, always positive. We’ll miss you Eric! Godspeed!

Does anybody know where the News of Eric Parker's passing came from? I have searched online through different methods and sites and cannot find an obit, or even a mention of it-except for Facebook our site?? Guess I'm just praying it is fake news.
Happy birthday, Karen! Hope all is well with you, Jack and family!
