Boo, it's your birthday! Have a happy one, my friend. Here's hoping that at 71 your brain's still working. How about we play a clarinet duet to celebrate?

This news hits hard. Mr. Swalga was my homebound teacher when I was out of school for 10 weeks during 9th grade (Fall 1966). I have such fond memories of him. I looked forward to his visits to my house. He was a hero to me. In the eyes of this 14 year-old kid, he was just so cool. Rest in peace, Mr. Swalga. You impacted me in a big way, and I have no doubt that you did so for many other students as well. My love and sympathy goes out to his family.  Respectfully, Greg Dickey
