Scott Bergstein

I recall with fondness the look of wonder on Mr. Miller's face as he stood before one of his students (that would be me) and contemplated how someone (that would be me, again) who was seemingly not a complete idiot could so utterly fail to understand even the most basic concepts of trigonometry. (I still don't know what trigonometry is.) This was but one example of Jamie's compassion for his students and his dedication to his art, I got to see more of his devotion to education when we served together on the faculty at the Altoona Campus, occasionally chatting over coffee. Jamie always put his students first and foremost and was never too busy to deal with one of his struggling charges. This world is certainly better for having had Jamie in it and I will miss him. 

Scott, my sympathies to you and your family on your loss of your father. I remember him as very kind and mild mannered. May your memories be a blesding.
